Local Agenda 21 and community planning
Local Agenda 21 stems from the Rio Earth summit where 150 governments committed themselves for the first time to sustainable development.
Our Local Agenda 21 Strategy is the partnership strategy for sustainable development. It is a strategy that is delivered through a range of processes, plans and programmes. It is complementary to the Community Plan and both documents are bound together through the Local Agenda 21 Monitoring Framework.
While the Local Agenda 21 Strategy provides useful guidance, we are currently working on an updated framework for integrating sustainable development within our activities.
