North Lanarkshire Council is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and we will comply with the terms of the Act when processing your personal data.

Personal data is any recorded information which, on its own or referenced against other data held by us, could identify a living person.  This includes all the obvious data we might hold about you, such as your name, address, Council Tax reference number, benefit entitlements and so on.

The Data Protection Act gives you a general right of access to personal data about you.  You must make your request in writing.  You must supply enough information for us to find the data you have requested along with proof that you are the person mentioned in the data.

There is a £10 administration fee for us to find and give you the personal data that we hold on you.

We will never sell your personal data to third parties without your consent.

If you give us personal data as part of an information or service request through this website, we will only process your data for the purpose or purposes given unless we are required or entitled by law or an order of court to produce the personal data for another purpose.   When processing any requests we may have to pass it to another Council service or agency.
