Clyde Valley Review cover

The Clyde Valley Review of Joint Working and Shared Services has been published. The Review, which examines shared service initiatives and joint working among the eight councils in the Clyde Valley Community Planning Partnership, identifies opportunities for further development of shared and joint working.

The review's key recommendations are that:

  • Local authorities and Health Boards should work together to create an integrated health and community care service in each local authority area.
  • There should be an integrated approach to waste management.
  • There should be a single social transport solution.
  • Councils and partners should have a joint and streamlined approach to fleet management and maintenance.
  • There should be a shared roads maintenance programme.
  • There should be property sharing and management in local hubs.
  • A joint approach should be developed to "back office" services.
  • There should be joint workforce planning.
  • There should be a common charging framework.

The eight councils in the Clyde Valley Community Planning Partnership will now examine the report in detail before meeting later in the year to establish a way forward.
