Support and services for older people

We support older people to be safe, have better health and feel included in their local communities.

We work together with older people and their carers to provide information, support, care and treatmen,t to promote value and enable wellbeing, independence and recovery.

We ensure that older people are valued, have their voices heard and are supported to enjoy full and positive lives in their own homes and communities.

With a growing population of older people in North Lanarkshire, it is essential that we prioritise resources to ensure that we are able to target the appropriate level of support to those in greatest need.

Working in partnership with other agencies, we provide a range of resources including:

  • Information and advice
  • Advocacy support
  • Assistive Technology
  • Carers support groups and organisations
  • Falls Prevention Schemes
  • Respite and short breaks
  • Supported discharge from hospital
  • Home Support Services (including re-ablement support)
  • Out of Hours Home Support Services
  • Day Support Services
  • Very Sheltered Housing
  • Specialist Support for people with dementia
  • Intermediate Care
  • Care Home Services

It is essential to recognise that we support people in a range of different ways that promote or maintain their independence, not solely through providing or arranging direct services.
