Tenant Scrutiny

Take an in-depth look at the Housing Service

Tenant Scrutiny is the term being used to involve tenants and other service users in the self assessment process of landlords to take an in depth look at parts of the Housing Service.

We have developed a tenant scrutiny framework in partnership with the North Lanarkshire Federation of Tenants' and Residents Associations and our tenants and have already focussed on areas such as void management, the kitchen replacement programme and the development of our Annual Performance Report.

We are now undertaking scrutiny on the following topics:

  • Performance Reporting and the Annual Performance Report

  • Estate Walkabouts and Chairpersons Meetings

  • Policies and procedures for the Allocation Policy

  • The Housing Revenue Account as well as Budget Setting

And will shortly begin discussions on the policies and procedures for the Allocation Policy as well as Rent and Budgeting.

We would like to involve more tenants in this process. Tenant Scrutiny Groups operate on behalf of tenants and residents to ensure their landlord delivers housing services that meet the needs of tenants and other service users and are of the highest standard.
