Local Area Partnerships play a key role in local community planning and is made up of senior officers from the community planning partnership, councillors, local community representatives, the community forum and the third sector.
The meetings give people an opportunity to see the work of the partnership in a local setting and be involved in local decision making by bringing local issues to the partnership for discussion and action.
Members of the public can participate in the decision-making process by contributing to debates and questioning officials from council services and partner agencies, as well as elected members.
Each LAP covers a variety of topics from community safety to roads and transportation issues, from local NHS issues to the progress of the Local Development Programme.
