Cathedral Primary & Nursery
Our Lady of Good Aid Cathedral Primary School is a co-educational mainstream primary with 457 children. We also have a nursery class which can accommodate a maximum of 50/50 pre-school children aged 3-5years. In our school and nursery we expect that all of our children will be provided with the highest quality of education in a climate where they are safe, valued and treated with dignity and respect.
We believe that in our Catholic School Community we have created a caring, concerned Christian Community where children can develop their full potential in well ordered, stimulating surroundings. There are currently 26 teaching staff and 14 support staff with two janitors. Our building was opened in August 2011 and is part of an impressive campus also housing Firpark Primary ASN school and Daisy Park Community centre.
We strive to ensure that our pupils have opportunity to maximise their achievement and attainment endeavouring to develop children into mature, health conscious, fit and well adjusted young people who are fully equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to successfully continue their education within the secondary sector. We are proud to work closely with our associated secondary schools: Our Lady's High and Taylor High. Our Home, School, Church Partnership is of great importance, working together and communicating openly ensures best value for all.
The school aim is:
"Cathedral primary will endeavour to create an effective organised caring community which is committed to developing the potential of all pupils and staff in a Christian atmosphere of trust, co-operation and mutual respect in partnership with parents and the wider community."
