The new North Lanarkshire Biodiversity Action Plan (NLBAP) for 2015-2020 was launched in July 2015.

The NLBAP outlines species and habitats that are important to North Lanarkshire, along with actions that can be taken to protect them.

The draft action plans were made available online from mid-September with consultation lasting until mid-November.

As part of the new Biodiversity Action Plan, we gathered information on when and where important species have been found in North Lanarkshire, to create a biodiversity audit.

The aim of the audit is to help inform decisions on where more action is needed for key plants and animals, and what we can do to help.
