Cycles on trains
ScotRail welcomes cyclists on all their services and taking the bike is now free.
|
Increased cycle capacity is available on many routes. Some services require reservations and these can be made any time (up to two hours before your train departs) in the eight week period before you travel for daytime services and the 12 week period before you travel for sleepers.
Replacement bus services
Cycles cannot be carried on bus services replacing trains during periods of engineering works.
Other vehicles
Tandems, tricycles, cycle trailers, motorcycles, mopeds, motorised cycles and scooters are not carried on any of ScotRail's services.
Avoid the traffic
Many stations are conveniently located near some great cycle routes, helping you to avoid the traffic and reach the best cycling in Scotland as easily as possible.
Whether it be for a day out or a longer break away, take the bike with you and make the most of ScotRail's extra new facilities for cyclists.
Look out for the National Cycle Route Interchange signs at some stations in North Lanarkshire around the NCN 75 route.
