Copies of birth certificates
Copies of birth certificates can be obtained from any registration office in Scotland
A copy certificate costs £14.00 however if you purchase a copy certificate within the same year as registration it costs only £9.00.
To obtain a copy of your birth certificate you need to give full details of when and where you were born. You do not need to attend the registration office in person to obtain a copy birth certificate.
You do not need proof of ID (although it is advisable) in order to obtain a copy of your birth certificate.
