Update on council services

Registration services

Please do not visit a registration office unless you have an appointment.

All enquiries should be directed to your local office below by telephone or email.

Registration services are still in high demand and certain parts of our business have been prioritised due to statutory timescales. 

Our first priority is the registration of deaths which are being completed remotely by telephone.  Birth and marriage enquiries should be directed to the appropriate office by either telephone or email.

Copy certificates can only be purchased by telephone or email. 

Once the appropriate information has been received and payment has been made the certificates will be posted.  The current timescale for producing certificates is 10 working days. 

Please note there is no priority service for copy certificates.

Sport and leisure facilities

It is strongly advised that waterpark bookings are made online due to the very high call volume on site but there will be the option to call the venue and book on 01236 449572 if you have any issues booking online.

Ice skating bookings can only be made by phone. 

The health and safety of all customers, service users and staff is our priority and it is very important that everyone continues to wear masks in our venues when moving between areas and all other safety measures in place at the venues are followed.

Housing repairs

House visits will begin again where required – risk assessments are in place and visits will be pre-arranged. Social distancing will be maintained while in the property. The time in the property will be kept to a minimum and any follow-up discussions that are required will be carried out by telephone after the visit.


The 0800 953 2424 homeless number will only operate from 4.45 to 8.45 each day and 4.15 on Friday to 8.45 Monday. All housing enquiries can be made via the housing office telephone number however the First Stop Shops remain closed to the public.
