Kingshill is a special place for people and wildlife close to the village of Allanton. Its meadows, woodlands and ponds provide a variety of habitats where beautiful creatures live.

Almost 20 species of butterfly are found here with many other insects living amongst the wildflowers. There are 12 ponds where lots of animals live...look out for dragonflies and whirlygig beetles. Special birds like lapwings and skylarks can be heard calling and singing over the open hill and grassland. Many of these species are priorities in our Local Biodiversity Action Plan.

We sometimes hold events at our LNR's - have a look at our What's on page to see if there are any soon.
