A mental health peer support network in North Lanarkshire

SAMH, in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, has launched a new peer support service in the region to help people living with mental health problems.

The Expeerience Counts service draws on the knowledge and understanding of peer support workers; individuals with personal experience of mental health problems who are trained and employed to support others on their recovery journey. By building and developing relationships, peer support workers help people to identify their strengths and explore how they can take control of their own recovery.

Expeerience Counts peer support service is available to anyone over 16 living in North Lanarkshire and can be accessed by speaking to any mental health professional, or at SAMH's centre at 62 Windmillhill Street in Motherwell.
