Fly tipping

We manage fly tipping by catching offenders

Details of the location will be recorded and arrangements made for the material to be removed if the items are located on council owned land contact us directly on 01698 403110.

If fly tipped items are on private land then it is the responsibility of the land owner to make arrangements to remove the fly tipping.  We undertake surveillance operations of known dumping sites with the intention of obtaining evidence to pursue prosecution of offenders.

If fly tipping is more than a skip load then this is a matter for the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) who legally have responsibility for investigating serious fly tipping which is classed as a skip load or more. You can contact SEPA by using the website link on the right. Police Scotland can also be contacted by telephone on 101 to report fly tipping.

If you witness fly tipping, please do not approach the offenders - contact us directly on 01698 403110 with the relevant information e.g. a description of the people and the registration number of the vehicle involved, note down the date and time so that we can record the incident. Your request will be treated in confidence.
