Airdrie learners celebrate their achievements

Hundreds of people of all ages receive learning certificates

Over 150 learners, staff and invited guests attended the recent Celebration of Learning event in Gartlea Community Centre

The event was hosted by Airdrie's Community Learning & Development (CLD) team in partnership with Airdrie Adult Learners' Forum (AALF) and 'Shout' who are Airdrie's Youth Forum.

Colin Coupar, who helped organise the evening, explained: "For the first time we brought together both youth and adult learners to celebrate their achievements together and the feedback has been really positive."

The programme included a live Twitter feed, along with presentations from a variety of learners.

Councillor David Stocks presented the certificates, he said: "It was a pleasure to present the certificates to the men and women for their hard work throughout the year.

"I would  like to thank AALF and SHOUT for organising such a evening, and I wish them all the best for next year."

A further 569 learners received their certificates in the post.
