Holytown link road

A new route into Eurocentral to boost local jobs

We propose to provide a link between Holytown and Eurocentral, between the A775 Main Street and Brittain Way/Condor Glen. This will support the development of the Eurocentral site and improve the current traffic problems on Holytown, Main Street.

It will provide an important direct link to this key employment location for local people, improve the local transport network and free up space on the roads. The link aims to offer a more sustainable route and provide opportunities for an improved bus service as well as a new safer route for pedestrians and cyclists.

Project update

As part of a first steps towards making a planning application, we submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) in May 2016 and you can access information on this by using reference 16/01074/PAN below:

As part of this we carried out a public consultation during June 2016 and held drop-in events at Kier Hardie Sports Centre in Holytown on 8 and 9 June 2016.

We are now considering the Holytown Link Road proposal alongside a wider review of the City Deal infrastructure proposals, particularly those which support the pan-Lanarkshire orbital transport corridor.
