•          Brand new strength area
•          New functional training equipment
•          Brand new spin studio and fitness studio
•          Brand new, state of the art, cardio equipment
•          A fantastic mixture of fixed resistance training machines

And local sporting hero Burns, who is one of only three British boxers to have won world titles in three weight divisions, officially opened the venue.

He said: "The place is looking absolutely fantastic and everyone should come along and check it out."

Cllr Jim Logue, Leader of North Lanarkshire Council, added: "The centre is looking absolutely fantastic, with a new gym and new studio areas to deliver a wide range of fitness classes for people to enjoy.

"I hope that people who haven't previously visited the centre will come along and see for themselves the high standard of facilities which are now available to them.

"The centre also has highly qualified, enthusiastic sport coaches to provide the best possible fitness and health advice both to new and existing members."
