St Dominic's dominate 2018 Netball Finals

Netball teams from schools across North Lanarkshire battled it out at this year's finals at the Tryst sports centre in Cumbernauld

Twelve schools had made it through to the finals following five area qualifying events.

The winners were St Dominic's Primary School in Airdrie, who won all of their games, coached by Giovanna Tweedie.

Vikki Sadler, Active Schools Coordinator said: "The netball played at the final was brilliant, everyone put in 100% effort and played their best.  We took this opportunity to link with local clubs and create pathways for young girls who are interested in playing netball.

"There was some excellent netball played throughout the day ensuring the results were close at the end."

Local netball clubs were represented at the event and were able to chat to pupils about netball classes in their area.

In second place were St Kevin's Primary School in Coatbridge who are coached by Mrs Logan.

Medals were presented by Lee Wilson the West - South Regional Development Manager from Netball Scotland.

Each school picked a player of the day from another school.
