Improving community safety in Bargeddie

Four new CCTV cameras have been installed following requests from residents

The cameras are located at Edward Street, Dykehead Road, Queens Crescent and Mainhill Road.

Matt Costello, Community Partnership Manager, said: "Following issues raised by local police, housing and the local community we have invested over £45k in new CCTV cameras in Bargeddie.

"This will help to address local concerns and will allow partners to address community safety issues more effectively."

The high-spec cameras provide high definition images even in low light levels. And areas highlighted as being of concern with the community police on the joint visit will be covered.

Cllr Mary Gourlay, Convener of the Local Area Partnership for Coatbridge, said: "This initiative is a great example of partnership working funded through the Local Development Programme - we've listened to local people about their concerns and delivered."
