Preparing businesses for Brexit

Toolkits and links

As the UK prepares to leave the EU, businesses face uncertainty around future trading conditions for their business. As the outcome of the Brexit negotiations still remain unclear, we are advising all local businesses of all sizes and across all sectors to consider how Brexit may affect them and their supply chains, and to ensure that they and their workforce are well prepared.

Below is a series of toolkits and links that have been prepared to help businesses prepare for Brexit.  They outline key areas of your business which could be affected, what's changing in your sector and information on specific rules and regulation changes.

Please note that this information and guidance has been collated from a number of external sources and is not official North Lanarkshire Council advice, or a political statement or position of the council on Brexit.

If you have any members of your workforce that want to continue to live and work in the EU after it leaves the EU, it is important that you make them aware of the EU Settlement Scheme to ensure they are prepared and know what they need to do.

There is also a specific employer toolkit available on the EU Settlement Scheme to assist with briefing employees: EU Settlement Scheme: employer toolkit.

The Scottish Government has also launched package of practical support called Stay in Scotland, which includes a toolkit for employers to support their EU staff, with information on what employers can do to help their EU members of staff.

All of this advice is for guidance only and you should seek the appropriate legal and professional advice. For business support and further advice please also visit Business Gateway Lanarkshire.
