Developing our Community Safety Strategy 2020-2025

Developing a Community Safety Strategy

Community safety is a crucial priority for the council and its partners. Collectively, we aim to improve the quality of life for everyone in North Lanarkshire and strive to ensure that our communities are safe from crime, disorder and danger, and that risk from injury and harm are minimised. Community safety is broad and far reaching. It encompasses all aspects that help people to be and feel safe in their communities, and includes issues such as:

  • Antisocial behaviour

  • Gender based violence

  • Home and fire safety

  • Road safety

  • Crime and disorder

Building on the strong partnership arrangements in North Lanarkshire, we have developed a new draft strategy that sets out how the council and its partners will help enable communities to be resilient and safe.

We are currently seeking views and comments on the strategy to help ensure it's reflective of local needs and priorities.

The strategy is available to download. There is also a survey on the draft strategy please complete and let us know your views to help shape the vision and priorities for community safety in North Lanarkshire.
