North Lanarkshire Council Ward 14 Thorniewood

By-election - Thursday 7 May 2020 POSTPONED

NOTE: The by-election due to take place on 7 May has been postponed, in light of the ongoing coronavirus emergency. It is proposed that the by-election will now take place on Thursday November 19, however, this will be kept under review.


A by-election will be held in the council's Thorniewood ward on Thursday 7 May.

One councillor will be elected for Electoral Ward 14 following the resignation of Councillor Steven Bonnar.

Voting will take place between 7.00am and 10.00pm.

To be able to vote in this by-election, eligible residents must be registered to vote by 12 midnight on Tuesday 21 April.

Applications for new postal or postal proxy votes and amendments to, or cancellation of, existing postal or proxy votes must be with the Electoral Registration Office by 5.00pm on Wednesday 22 April. Applications for new proxy votes must be received by 5.00pm on Wednesday 29 April.
