Active Outdoors North Lanarkshire

Your guide to parks, green spaces and nature.

Active Outdoors

It’s more important than ever to be able to enjoy the great outdoors. Even with the coronavirus restrictions on travel, there is plenty of greenspace on our doorstep.

Evidence shows that being out in the fresh air in a park or the countryside has many benefits for our health and wellbeing.

We have three country parks, nine nature reserves and numerous town parks as well as many play parks and outdoor gyms – something for everyone. There’s also an extensive network of paths for walking, jogging and cycling.

This web page points you to the wonderful facilities we have across North Lanarkshire, with suggestions for local walks, activities for families and ways to keep active during the winter.

We’ll be adding to the page regularly and publicising news on our social media channels too.
