Stage 2 - Project overview

This is where we look at all the possible route options east of Airdrie and assess the short listed options.

At the end of Stage 2 we select the preferred option which will be taken forward to detailed design.   

We are at the end of our Stage 2 assessment of the short listed options. We have completed assessing the options and have selected the preferred option. The options assessment has been done in two phases.

We have also worked with NHS Lanarkshire on the requirements of the new road to support the Monklands Replacement Hospital project at Wester Moffat. 

Stage 2 (Phase 1)

We sought your feedback on the Stage 2 shortlisted options last year. This was phase 1 of the process.

The feedback received during the Stage 2 Phase 1 (public engagement) was reviewed and considered. 

Stage 2 (Phase 2)

Further feasibility work was identified and progressed to support the selection of the preferred route. This is phase 2 of the process and has considered additional options at Riggend.
