Clothing grants

You may be entitled to apply for an essential clothing grant if your child attends a North Lanarkshire school.

Eligibility

If you receive any of the following benefits and your child attends a North Lanarkshire school then can apply for a clothing grant:

  • Income support
  • Job seekers allowance (income based)
  • Employment and support allowance (income related)
  • Universal credit (maximum monthly income of £610)
  • Housing benefit
  • Council tax reduction (council tax discount or exemption does not apply)

Applying for clothing grant

To apply, please download and complete an application form below (address details are on the form).

Once we've made a decision, we'll contact you using the mobile number or email address you supplied, or by letter.

You can submit an application at any time throughout the school year. They are usually processed within two weeks.

Please include children who will be 16 years of age between 1 March and 30 September (children of school leaving age) on your form.

Application for free school meals and clothing grant 2020-2021

Payments

Clothing grant payments of £110 per child are paid directly into a bank/building society account. We will make the payment when the school has confirmed that the pupil has return to school. 

One clothing grant will be paid for any pupil during a school year.
