The Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey, London where His Majesty King Charles III will be crowned alongside The Queen Consort.
The Provost of North Lanarkshire, Councillor Kenneth Duffy, said: “The Coronation is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the community spirit that is so evident across North Lanarkshire and I would encourage businesses, organisations and people in our communities to spend time with family, friends and neighbours or indeed, to create their own event to celebrate this historic occasion.
“On behalf of the people of North Lanarkshire, I extend our warmest best wishes to His Majesty The King on his coronation.”
The Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Susan Lady Haughey, said, “This is a historic occasion that provides a marvellous opportunity for people across North Lanarkshire to celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III in their own local community.
“There are some outstanding initiatives nationwide for people to participate in such as volunteering or to host a big lunch but whatever you do, it’s important to share stories, enjoy the occasion and create some wonderful memories for the future.”
