Covid-19 memorial at Strathclyde Park

Residents are being asked for their comments on designs for a Covid-19 memorial to be created in Strathclyde Country Park.

The project is part of the Remembering Together initiative by the Scottish Government which has commissioned artists across all local authority areas to work with communities to create memorials.

Artists John Martin Fulton and Russell McGovern have been running art workshops with groups across North Lanarkshire to explore what was lost and found during the pandemic and create visuals showing how that experience could be remembered.

This co-design process has been used to create possible designs for a permanent Covid-19 memorial in Strathclyde Country Park.

We are running a public consultation to hear the views of local people on the design elements and possible locations within the park.

The online survey runs until 14 May.

Feedback from the survey will be used to finalise the memorial design which will form the first standalone art commission for the planned art park, part of the our Country Parks for the Future Masterplan.
