We (North Lanarkshire Council) are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of any personal information that we hold. This privacy notice will explain how we look after your personal information and tell you about your rights.

The personal information we hold about you

Where we need to collect personal information by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with services). How your personal information is collected
We use different methods to collect data from and about you:

Information and service requests - if you request information or a service via email, letter or telephone, we may need your personal details to process that request. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note some parts of this website may become inaccessible or not function properly.

Mailing lists - as part of the subscription process for our e-bulletins, we collect personal information. We use that information to tell you about services you've asked us about and to check every now and then that you're happy and satisfied.
We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party service provider, Granicus GovDelivery Communications Cloud, to deliver our e-bulletins. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry-standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-bulletins. Purposes for which we will use your personal information
We will only use your personal information when it is lawful to do so.

We may process your personal information for more than one lawful ground depending on the specific purpose for which we are using your data

We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal information for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal information for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

How long we will hold your personal information
We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes for which we process your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

Mobile App privacy policy
The Mobile app "Visit DCP", developed by Brilliant Trails does not access, collect, use or share any of personal and sensitive user data.
Our app makes use of automatically collected information using the device camera and the TrueDepth API provided by Apple. The only use of this information is to track the user's head and face so that the user can control the AR experience and the selfie filters by moving their device and their head. None of the information collected by the TrueDepth API ever leaves the user's device nor is it persistently stored on the device.
