Cumbernauld town centre regeneration

Having received £9.225 million from the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund, we completed the purchase of The Centre Cumbernauld in June 2023. This is the first step towards realising Cumbernauld’s Town Vision.

While The Centre Cumbernauld building represented the future in the 1960s, it does not fit with the community’s vision of what they need from a modern town centre. The structure has been through significant changes over the years since the first phase of works were completed in 1963.

We are committed to ensuring Cumbernauld, and all the towns in North Lanarkshire, are vibrant, living towns with a sustainable future. We will continue to invest in our town centres to help attract people to come and live, work, learn, visit and invest in our town centres.
