Additional waste collection

We can consider an additional bin collection for residents who, due to a medical condition or health reasons, produce additional waste related to their condition and can no longer manage their waste collection.

This additional collection service would be a weekly uplift of your general waste bin regardless of what recycling week it may be.

This means the resident would continue to present their recycling bins in line with their collection calendar along with their general waste bin every week.

However, when it's general waste collection week, they would only present their one general waste bin.

How to apply

To apply for this service you must provide a copy of a letter from a medical health professional for example, district nurse, practice nurse or doctor. Unfortunately, we cannot accept letters from carers or social workers.

If you would like to apply for this service on behalf of another person, you will still require a letter from a health professional. Please call us on 0345 143 0015.

Please note, the letter must be written on surgery headed paper detailing the residents name and address. Details of the medical condition is not necessary on this letter, only that in the health professional’s opinion the resident would benefit from this service.

The additional waste collection service is reviewed every two years. Please tell us if your circumstances change within that time and you no longer require the service.
