Tourism

Tourism is a key sector for the North Lanarkshire economy.

VisitLanarkshire

With partners South Lanarkshire Council, VisitScotland and Business Gateway, we support existing and start-up tourism businesses.

North Lanarkshire tourism strategy

We have published a strategy to support the recovery and growth of the tourism and leisure industry.

The North Lanarkshire Tourism Strategy and Action Plan 2022 - 2026 sets out how we will work in partnership with local, regional and national agencies to help local businesses recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.

It aims to ensure that by 2026 North Lanarkshire is a sustainable tourist destination offering a range of experiences for visitors which provide value for money and are accessible to all.

The partnership delivers promotional campaigns and PR activities through VisitLanarkshire to raise awareness of the Lanarkshire tourism offering. If you operate a tourism leisure business or a business tourism venue you can be listed on the website for free.

We have changed the way we do business. From the end of March, our business enquiry system is now online only. This new way of working will make it quicker and easier for you to manage your business enquiries. This is a two-step process. The first step is setting up a Bisaccount. This is a simple, secure way to help businesses transact with us online using just one username and password. We have created FAQs to support you with any queries you may have about setting up your online account.
