We sometimes need to close core paths to protect the public from danger or to allow essential work to take place.
Core path 74 - Croy to Dullatur
QTS is working with Network Rail to deliver drainage and earthwork works to improve the resilience of Scotland’s Railway against adverse weather between Croy and Dullatur.
Core Path 74 marked red on the map will be considered an active works site for an extended period, during which there will be extensive movement of materials, and frequent relocating of plant and machinery.
As such, under Section 6(1)(a) of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, access rights will be temporarily excluded from this area until the works are complete.
A diversion marked blue on the map is shown.
This path will be closed for the above safety reasons during the active works phase, which is expected to last until December 2023.

Mountain bike trails - Carron Valley
Forestry and Land Scotland will be closing some mountain bike trails between 1 November 2023 and February 2024.
This is to safely carry out tree harvesting operations in the area. The forest tracks marked red on the map will be closed while felling work is being carried out, and the public will be diverted to other paths where possible. Once the blocks are complete, the tracks will be re-opened for public access.
Please follow the local signs' guidance and advice from staff members.
