Having the right feedback on your proposal at the right time can save time, costs and help optimise the potential of your development project.
Our aim is to guide good quality proposals for development in line with the Development Plan that will help us process your planning application, roads construction consent and building warrant more quickly.
If you are considering investing or developing in North Lanarkshire, we have published the following advice and information that may help you:
Planning permission:
You will need planning permission for most work to build, alter, extend or change the use of property. There are some exceptions, known as permitted development.
Road construction consent:
You will need Road Construction Consent (RCC), as well as planning permission, for a new road or an extension of an existing road.
Building warrant:
You will need a building warrant to build, convert, alter, extend or demolish a building.
Council assets and procurement:
You will need to contact us if you need to purchase council land or buildings, either to develop or to use to access your site.
Any advice given cannot guarantee any future planning application (or other statutory consent) will be successful, and any feedback given cannot be considered as, or take the place of, independent professional advice.
