Investment programme 2022-23

Energy efficiency programmes

We always try hard to meet the Scottish Government's energy efficiency standards.

Heating

A number of our tenants will have their heating replaced during 2022/23.

We will replace their current system with:

  •  more energy-efficient condensing gas boilers
  •  more energy-efficient and cheaper to run storage heater systems.

This could mean:

  • you use less energy to heat your home
  • fewer breakdowns or emergency repair callouts
  • and better temperature control within your home

what does the work involve:

  • The contractor will remove and dispose of the old boiler, hot water cylinder or storage tanks
  • Standard repairs required in line with the heating installation such as plaster works or electrical works will be carried out
  • Pipework within the property will be tested and renewed if necessary
  • Installation of a new energy efficient boiler and temperature-controlled radiators

After the works are complete you may also be entitled to a disturbance allowance.

Replacement windows/doors

Our window and external door replacement programme will continue. If your home is to have either the windows or external doors replaced this financial year, our contractor will write to you approximately 12 months before the work is due to start.

If you are having replacement windows fitted, you should be aware we do not pay a disturbance allowance after the works are completed or pay for blinds or curtains to be resized.

Loft insulation

For some tenants' homes, the loft insulation may not be up to current standards of between 250-300mm, so their homes are therefore not as energy-efficient as they could be. A quarter of heat is lost through the roof of an uninsulated home.

The main reason for homes not having suitable loft insulation is previous tenants refusing to have work carried out in their home. We have records of such addresses and will continue to contact tenants about having loft insulation fitted to their homes.
