Support for local businesses

UK Shared Prosperity funding provides a series of interventions to support local businesses and investment across North Lanarkshire.

It will provide business grant funding to support the establishment and growth of new and existing businesses to complement the wider business support available. Specifically, UKSPF will provide support through the following programmes:

  • Business Start Up Fund
  • Small Business and Self-Employed Support Scheme
  • Business Growth Fund
  • Expert Help

More information on these and the wider support can be found on our Business Support webpages.

UKSPF has also provided the opportunity to develop enhanced strands of business support for particular types of businesses and to provide targeted entrepreneurial support.

In September we launched a Tourism Challenge Fund targeted at tourism businesses based in North Lanarkshire to support their long-term growth and increase visitor numbers to our area.

We are also working with Inspirent to deliver development support for social enterprises and are currently developing programmes tailored to client groups who do not typically engage with mainstream business support including support for the BAME community in North Lanarkshire and for Lanarkshire Women in Business.
