2022 – 2025 UKSPF Programme Highlights

UKSPF was set up by the UK Government in 2022, initially allocating £2.6 billion over three years of funding for local investment. 

North Lanarkshire Council benefited from £13,871,046 which resulted in support being provided to 37 projects across North Lanarkshire, including:

Supporting the initial phase of development and upgrade of the Strathclyde Park Watersports Centre to Net Zero;

  • Creation of a Cycle Pump Track in Bellshill and improved lighting.
  • Providing over 2km of Active Travel routes with an increase of 26,144 users.
  • Providing energy advice and support to 810 households.
  • 190 enterprises received non-financial support.
  • 199 enterprises received grants.
  • 137 entrepreneurs were supported to be business ready.
  • 2,324 additional visitors were recorded.
  • £208,140 increased visitor spending.
  • 1,211 people moved into employment after support.
  • 305 people accessed basic skills courses.
  • 1,356 people supported to gain a qualification or completed a course.
  • 253 people gained a maths qualification up to and including level 2.
  • 1622 people supported through Multiply funded adult numeracy courses.
