Future Fridays aims to provide all secondary school pupils with an afternoon of voluntary extra-curricular activities on a Friday. It gives pupils the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills, and learn about different career paths.
Pupils can take part in any of the activities that are offered. The activities are free of charge and all pupils are welcome to attend.
Why Future Fridays?
It provides pupils with the opportunity to:
- Explore their interests and passions. This can help them to discover what they are good at and what they enjoy doing.
- Develop new skills. This can help them to prepare for their future careers and to become more successful in life. There are also opportunities to gain accreditation for engagement. This can be SQA or SCQF awards or industry-recognised certificates which can be very beneficial in applications for employment or further education.
- Learn about different career paths. This can help them to make informed decisions about their future education and employment.
How to get involved
Pupils can get involved in Future Fridays by talking to their school's Principal Teacher.
More information about all activities can be found in our Future Fridays Weblog*
Pupils, parents, and carers are all encouraged to get involved in Future Fridays.
We currently have approx 5000 young people engaged each week in this opportunity to learn new skills, explore their interests, and develop their potential.
Our Universal Offer for all schools is highlighted below. In addition to this, each school will run its own bespoke programme which caters more for the needs and wants of pupils in each school.
