Coatbridge Pride in Place

New funding available for community groups in Coatbridge

North Lanarkshire Council and the Coatbridge Neighbourhood Board are pleased to announce the launch of the Coatbridge Pride in Place Community Empowerment Grant Fund 2026-2027.

Quick eligibility checklist

The fund has been created to support community and voluntary sector organisations delivering projects, activities and events that contribute to the Coatbridge Regeneration Plan.

Funding awards between £1,000 and £5,000 are available for projects contributing to:

• Outcome 3 - Coatbridge Communities will be stronger, more connected, and with increased opportunities for people to come together.
• Outcome 4 - Coatbridge’s green spaces and green networks will be improved by additional investment

Delivery themes

Community capacity building activities such as: 

• training or upskilling people to volunteer
• helping local people and groups to work together or share resources
• developing the skills of local young leaders or community champions
• supporting people to organise activities or take part in decision‑making
• improving how a group runs or plans its work 

Community events and activities such as: 

• holiday programmes for young people
• community fun days or celebrations
• family or youth activity days
• open days, workshops, or taster sessions
• awareness‑raising events on local issues
• seasonal or cultural events that bring people together 

Local environmental projects and awareness raising that encourage people to get involved in environmental action and awareness. 

This could include organised sessions, workshops, or gatherings that help people learn about their local environment, take part in practical activities, or come together to explore environmental issues. Examples might include:

• nature or litter picking sessions with young people
• environment themed workshops and creative activities
• community events that raise awareness about local environmental issues
• hands on projects such as planting, gardening, or biodiversity activities
• youth led events promoting environmental ideas or campaigns

Projects must take place between 1 June 2026 and 31 March 2027.

Organisations considering applying are asked to read over the guidance note for key eligibility and fund rules.
