Community Events - Period Dignity Week 2025

We successfully distributed over 98,000 free period products distributed across 38 community events in 2024/2025.

12 of these events were dedicated to period dignity. Across the year, over 98,000 free period products were distributed at events, including reusable and single-use options.

The pilot Period Dignity Week was held in February 2025, offering free period products across 12 stalls in 9 localities to our community members.

Highlights

Lanarkshire Fun Day - A family-friendly event supported by Police Scotland, with activities that encouraged open conversations about periods and tackling stigma. Families also received My First Period and Pads for Dads Kits to support pre-teen and teenage girls starting their period.

Period Dignity Week (17-21 February 2025) - this key event featured 12 pop-up stalls across 9 localities and strong promotion through social media and community partners. Each venue welcomed an average of 90 community members, reflecting strong community engagement.

These events have shown the value of providing not just free products but also safe, welcoming spaces for conversations about periods helping reduce stigma and ensuring equitable access to period products for all across North Lanarkshire.
