This initiative offers employers a valuable opportunity to “give something back” to their community by helping young people gain essential workplace skills. It is also a chance for employers to make a positive impact on the local workforce by supporting young people in developing a strong foundation in the industry.

A number of employers supported the programme in 2024 and 2025. As we move forward, we would like to get more businesses involved.

Students are recruited by us and matched to placements according to their skills, knowledge and career aspirations.

Opportunities for employers to get on board will be advertised in Nov/Dec each year.

‘I’m supportive of this programme and feel it could work well as Summer Placements enable us to receive additional support during the holiday period, while also being beneficial and a learning experience for the students to enable them to make informed career decisions. Personally, I wish this is something I could have been enrolled in when I was young.’
