Primary menu

Menus for school meals within primary schools

The price of a two course meal is £2 and consists of a main course plus soup or fruit and yoghurt or dessert.
Children have a choice of two vegetables or salad with their lunch.

A free school meal entitlement is up to the value of the school meal price of £2.

This menu cycle runs from Monday 23rd October 2017 until Thursday 29th March 2018.

All chicken served is British Red Tractor standard and our red meat and burgers come straight from the butcher.
You can also pre-order a pdf icon Snack 2 Go [1Mb] for the price of a two-course meal.

Pre-ordering of options 1, 2, 3 and 4 is available in most schools. To see the colour bandings, please view the pdf icon Primary Autumn / Winter Menu 17 - 18 [1Mb].
We have reduced the days when home baking and desserts are offered and our homebaking is produced with reduced sugar content.  On a Tuesday and Friday, the only treats available are fruit based options. The only milk served will be plain  and flavoured milk is no longer available on the menu.

Any grapes served to a child in Primary 1-3 as part of the school meals service will be halved to reduce the risk of choking.  Children from P4-7 will receive whole grapes.  Some schools may have to reduce or remove the provison of grapes due to time constraints.

To assist pupils to order in Primary 1 to Primary 3 we have developed a pictorial menu. pdf icon Pictorial Menu Autumn/Winter 2017 - 18 [2Mb]

Throughout the year we run specific theme days for school lunches. We have produced a pdf icon Theme Day Planner [6Mb] to allow you to plan ahead for these events. Each individual school will produce its own promotional material nearer the time.

Please note, if your child has a food allergy or intolerance then you should speak to the Head Teacher/Catering Manager who will advise on the word icon Special Diet Procedure [213kb].
