Primary menu

Menus for school meals within primary schools

The price of a two course meal is £2 and consists of a main course plus soup or sweet treat plus a drink - water, milk or aquajuice.

Children have a choice of two vegetables or salad with their lunch.

A free school meal entitlement is up to the value of the school meal price of £2.

This menu cycle runs from Monday 16th April 2018 until Friday 12th October 2018.

All chicken and turkey served is British Red Tractor standard and our red meat and burgers come straight from the butcher.

You can also pre-order a pdf icon Snack2go leaflet Spring Summer 2018 [66kb] for the price of a two-course meal.

Pre-ordering of options 1, 2 and Snack2go is available in most schools. To see the colour bandings, please view the pdf icon Primary Spring Summer 2018 Menu Leaflet [1020kb].
We have reduced the days when home baking and desserts are offered in order to reduce sugar consumption. We now have a smaller serving size for the homebaking. On a Tuesday and Friday, the only treats available are fruit based options. The only milk served will be plain  and flavoured milk is no longer available on the menu.

Any grapes served to a child in Primary 1-3 as part of the school meals service will be halved to reduce the risk of choking.  Children from P4-7 will receive whole grapes.  Some schools may have to reduce or remove the provision of grapes due to time constraints.

To assist pupils to order in Primary 1 to Primary 3 we have developed a pictorial menu. pdf icon Pictorial Menu Spring Summer 2018 [4Mb]

Throughout the year we run specific theme days for school lunches. We have produced a pdf icon Theme Day Planner [8Mb] to allow you to plan ahead for these events. Each individual school will produce its own promotional material nearer the time.

Please note, if your child has a food allergy or intolerance then you should speak to the Head Teacher/Catering Manager who will advise on the word icon Special Diet Procedure [213kb].
