Scheduled maintenance

We’re carrying out essential maintenance to our website today, between 9:30 am and 16:30 pm. Some of our online services may be unavailable during this time.

Tree management on council land

We manage and maintain the trees on our land and are committed to enhancing trees and woodlands as a vital part of the natural and built environment.

We receive frequent requests to prune or fell trees on land we own. It is our policy to only carry out tree pruning or felling operations for health and safety reasons in line with appropriate arboriculture management.

We will not remove or prune trees because of issues such as leaf litter, satellite reception or shading issues.

Reporting a tree issue

If you want to report a dangerous tree please call us on 0345 143 0015.

If you are a council tenant and the tree is within your garden please contact your local housing office.

If the tree is in a conservation area or protected under a tree protection order then you will need permission.

Tree risk management strategy

We are responsible for the management of our trees at various sites across the authority. This strategy seeks to strike a balance between the risks presented by trees and the environmental, social and economic benefits they provide.

The strategy describes how we manage risk from falling trees in land within Environmental Assets and Education portfolios.
