Taxi and Private Hire Licences

Update on Available Taxi Operator Licences

Following our notice on 1 December 2025, we are currently reviewing all expressions of interest received for Taxi Operator Licences in the North, Central and South Licensing areas.

All individuals who submitted an expression of interest have now been issued with an application form so that the licensing process can formally begin.

Thank you for your patience while we undertake this work in line with statutory requirements.

Apply or reapply for a taxi or private hire licence.

Please download the application form you require from the list below.

If you are applying for a Private Hire Driver or Taxi Driver Licence, you will be required to complete a local knowledge test as part of the process.

Once you have chosen the correct form, please complete all sections, sign it and the appropriate fee. Send the completed application to the address provided on the form.
