Liquor licence applications

• Reconfiguration of floor plan of premises to effectively convert from the current public house usage to convenience store usage. This includes the creation of a “beer cave” style arrangement in respect of the alcohol display and an overall removal of current fixture and the installation of shelving, gondolas, and a sales counter.
• Amend the Operating plan regarding On Sale core hours to N/A each day of the week and Off Sale hours from 11am to 10am each day of the week.
• Amend the Operating plan regarding other activities to N/A.
• Amend the Operating Plan to add “ The premises may open prior to the commencement of the core licensed hours for the provision of non – alcohol related items and services. In addition, home deliveries of food and alcohol may be provided subject to the terms of the Licensing (Scotland Act) 2005.
• Amend Operating plan to remove statement regarding ages of Children to Not Applicable.
• Amend the Operating Plan current Capacity for On Sales 863 to Off Sales – 71.22 m²Amend the description of the Premises from “basic local public house” to “General Convenience Store”.

The premises comprise a ground-floor retail unit currently operating as a convenience store. The property includes a main sales area fitted with display shelving, refrigerated units, and a service counter with a point-of-sale system. To the rear of the premises, there is a stockroom for goods storage, and a washroom.

The shop benefits from a prominent frontage with large display windows providing excellent visibility from the street. The unit is accessed directly from the main public footpath through a double-glazed entrance door. The premises are equipped with standard retail lighting, heating, etc. 

The property is suitable for ongoing use as a convenience store & off licence, with a capacity of 14.8m².

• To remove specific conditions no 6 - "that no caffeinated alcohol to be sold"

• Ground floor unit amongst a row of other mixed retail units, detached from any residential property situated off Old Edinburgh Road.
• A large car park is at the front of the retail units.
• The premises are a mixed use general convenience store selling a range of groceries, newspapers, magazines, tobacco, fresh produce, diary, meat, bakery and food to go products. Alcohol will be sold for consumption off the premises only.
• Home Delivery including alcohol will be offered subject to demand.

Change to Layout Plan

•       Add supplementary layout to include outdoor area within licensed extent. 

 Change to Operating Plan

•  Amend premise licence description to add reference to the outdoor area and to remove the wording about restricted hours for the Style Bar, to the following:

“The premises is situated on the edge of a pedestrianised shopping area in the town centre of Coatbridge and occupies the ground floor within a stand-alone entertainment complex. The premises comprises a public bar operating under the name of Innishmohr, and adjacent Style Bar with separate public entrance, and an outdoor patio area.”

• Amend operating Plan, as follows:

Q5(d): Add outdoor drinking facilities as a permitted activity during licensed hours

Q5(e): Remove the following “operates on a Friday and Saturday from 9pm – 1am and prior to bank holidays and will undertake private functions as requested” Change wording to:

“Both the Style Bar and the Innishmohr Bar will operate on a like-for-like basis during core licensing hour. Either area may host private functions as requested and may also open prior to core hours for the provision of tea, coffee, breakfasts, and other non-alcoholic refreshments.”

Q5(f): Add the following wording: 

“The outdoor patio area may be used during licensed hours but will close at 10pm. Low-level recorded music may be played in the outdoor area during licensed hours.”

Q6(e): Remove the words “part of the bar” and amend wording to read “The whole premises for the purpose of a meal or the purpose of attending a function.”

Change to Layout Plan

• Variation proposes to amend the layout to include external areas to the front and rear of the premises and the addition of a kitchen area to the internal layout. 

Change to Operating Plan

      Variation proposes to amend the operating plan to include 

• Bar meals during licensed hours
• Children’s access for 5 – 17-year-olds until 10pm or until the terminal hour if attending a private prebooked function
• Change in capacity to Internal - 38, External - 56, Overall - 98
• Outdoor drinking
• Seasonal variations

• Ramp provided for access to front – premises single storey floor level
• Accessible tables
• Table service provided where required
• Service dogs welcome

Variation to the Layout Plan

• The intention is to add an upstairs area within the restaurant and a small external drinking area to the front. 

Variation to the Operating Plan

• On sales increase to 78 (70 internally on both floors and 8 in external area)
• Off sales – 5m²

A local convenience store in Glenboig selling products consistent with that of a small grocery store. 

The Premises will sell products including but not limited to confectionery, dairy, meat, hot snacks, coffee, soft drinks alcohol and cigarettes. 

There may occasionally be a charity or community related event. Home deliveries including alcohol may occur. 

 Change to Operating Plan 

Add seasonal variations to the Operating Plan so we could take advantage of any extended period of trading granted by the Board for significant local/national events, re Festive period, bank holidays, general extensions for specific events.
