Available Taxi Operator Licences
As from 1 December 2025, we have available licences in the North, South and Central licensing areas of North Lanarkshire. The number of available licences are:
North Area
- Available Licences: 7
- Upper Limit: 55
Central Area
- Available Licences: 29
- Upper Limit: 238
South Area
- Available Licences: 41
- Upper Limit: 182
Please be advised if the number of applications exceeds the licences available, all interested parties will be entered into a ballot. The outcome of the ballot will determine whose applications are able to proceed.

Apply or reapply for a taxi or private hire licence.
Please download the application form you require from the list below.
If you are applying for a Private Hire Driver or Taxi Driver Licence, you will be required to complete a local knowledge test as part of the process.
Once you have chosen the correct form, please complete all sections, sign it and the appropriate fee. Send the completed application to the address provided on the form.
