We are reminding businesses which use its trade waste service to sign up for an online account.

The secure online account, called bisaccount, allows businesses to access and manage their waste collection more easily, including changing collection frequency, number and size of bins required.

Customers can also view pricing information and payment methods, and the account will generate a Duty of Care document, the legal contract between the council and each business. This is a legal requirement of the Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) (Scotland) Regulations 2014.

Letters have been sent to local businesses which use the trade waste service providing details of how to register for the online account.

“The online bisaccount is a convenient, efficient and secure way for businesses to manage their business waste contract,” said Councillor Helen Loughran, Convener of the Environment and Climate Change Committee.

“Our ongoing move to more digital services allows the council to better meet the needs of businesses and residents with more efficient and responsive services.”

The council offers business waste and recycling services for a range of materials including paper and cardboard, metal, plastics, glass and food waste.
