Progress on our ambitious plans to deliver 5,000 new council homes were outlined at the Housing and Regeneration Committee, together with details of how this investment supports the local economy, regenerates communities and transforms town centres.

Sadly, it’s not business as usual for this year’s Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards. Despite the event being cancelled due to COVID, the successes and achievements of Lanarkshire’s top business were still recognised with finalists announced virtually and awards hand delivered.

Additional Support Needs (ASN) education in North Lanarkshire is set to be transformed following a comprehensive cross-party review of the sector.

A community cycling hub, a bridge spanning Strathclyde Loch, a residential outdoor centre, plans to generate renewable energy, and a major attraction based around play are some of the ambitious plans for country parks in North Lanarkshire.

ScotRail, North Lanarkshire Council, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), and Transport Scotland have teamed up to create a gateway to the Glasgow City Region at Motherwell station. (June 2020)
