Airdrie Bowling Club and Guide Dogs’ North Lanarkshire Fundraising Group hosted a coffee morning in aid of Guide Dogs Scotland on Thursday 3 April.

The event was a great success, raising £826.10 to support people living with sight loss.

It was well attended by the local community, who enjoyed tea, coffee, home baking, and a raffle—all while supporting a fantastic cause.

Provost Kenneth Duffy, who attended the event, praised the generosity of those who took part. He said, “It was wonderful to see the community come together to support such an important cause. The money raised will make a real difference in helping to train and care for guide dogs, giving people with sight loss greater independence.”

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Guide Dogs Scotland, helping to fund the training of life-changing guide dogs and other vital services. Organisers thanked everyone who attended, donated, and contributed to the event’s success.

Sharon Moncrieff, Volunteer Group Coordinator for Guide Dogs’ North Lanarkshire Fundraising Group, said: “The event was well attended. I’d like to thank the Airdrie Bowling Club ladies for their help, generosity and support—we couldn’t have held the event without them. I’m so lucky to be part of a wonderful team of Guide Dogs volunteers who put so much into our fundraising group.”
