Local people and sports groups from across North Lanarkshire were recognised for their hard work and dedication at this year’s sport and volunteer awards.
Now in its tenth year, the awards featured 13 categories that highlight the efforts of coaches, volunteers, schools and organisations who help people get active, learn new skills and feel part of something special.
And, with 181 nominations received, judges had a tough job choosing the winners.
The evening was hosted by Alison Conroy from Sky Sports, and showcased the great work taking place in schools, clubs and community groups across the area.
Councillor Michael McBride, Convener of Education, Children and Families, gave closing remarks and said: “These awards are about celebrating the people who give up their time to help others.
“Whether it’s coaching, volunteering or supporting behind the scenes, their efforts are what make sport in North Lanarkshire so special. We’re proud of every single nominee and winner.”
Provost Kenneth Duffy added: “It’s inspiring to see so many individuals and groups working hard to create opportunities for others. Their dedication helps build stronger communities and gives young people the chance to thrive. Thank you to everyone who plays a part.”
