The St Patrick’s Family Learning Centre community in Kilsyth are celebrating a very positive inspection by the Care Inspectorate.
The report, completed in October 2025, rated the centre “Very Good” across all key areas, recognising its strong leadership, nurturing environment and high‑quality learning experiences for children.
Inspectors found that children were happy, confident and fully engaged in their play. They described children exploring a wide range of activities both indoors and outdoors, benefiting from daily outdoor play, forest school visits and regular outings within the local community.
Staff were praised for their warm, caring interactions and for knowing each child well, helping them feel safe, valued and respected.
The inspection also highlighted a strong culture of continuous improvement, supported by a motivated staff team who regularly share ideas and reflect on their practice.
Parents spoke positively about the warm, welcoming atmosphere, the supportive relationships they have with staff and the opportunities they are offered to take part in their children’s learning.
“We are absolutely delighted with this very positive report,” said Sara Armitage, Head of St Patrick’s Family Learning Centre. “Our whole team works hard every day to create a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for our children and families.
“The inspectors recognised the commitment, creativity and passion of our staff, and I’m incredibly proud of them.
“We’re grateful to our families for their ongoing support and for working in partnership with us. We will continue to build on this success and keep improving for the benefit of every child in our care.”
Councillor Louise Roarty, Depute Leader of North Lanarkshire Council, added: “The Care Inspectorate’s findings show the dedication and professionalism of the St Patrick’s team, who clearly put children’s wellbeing, learning and happiness at the heart of everything they do.
“I want to congratulate the centre on achieving such strong results across all areas. It’s a real credit to everyone involved and reflects the high‑quality early years provision we are committed to delivering across North Lanarkshire.”
The centre is already looking to the future and are developing planning for younger children and continuing to involve families in shaping future improvements.
